The facts

  • Closed since: June 3, 2026, 3 p.m. — full closure of the A565 Rhine bridge in both directions.
  • Why: structural damage; the western approach bridge is being demolished (since July 15, 2026) and will be rebuilt.

  • Park & Ride: free P+R lots on both sides of the river — locations (German), all on the interactive map.
  • Bike: the Kennedy Bridge stays open for bikes and pedestrians — often the fastest option for short commutes.
